A Lot Of Famous People Have A MySpace Page!

I have a couple of famous "friends" on MySpace! They include Madonna, Janet Jackson, Quincy Jones and Steve Valentine who played Nigel Townsend on "Crossing Jordon".

I doubt that some of the "bigger" celebrities that have a myspace page actually work on their myspace pages. Come to think of it I remember Steve Harvey, a famous comedian, saying that he didn't even know what a myspace page is but his manager told him that he definitely had to have one!

The reason why I'm blogging about this is because I noticed that there are a lot of searches for a very popular radio host in my area! He was on a very popular radio station here in Philadelphia but the station changed format and all of the on-air staff was gone! It him some time to re-surface but he is now on another radio station in Philadelphia. So I guess that his fans were still looking for him and they decided to google him and that led them to one of my blogs where I posted about him.

My Own MySpace Page...............

I'm currently going through my "friends requests" and messages on my own MySpace page and I see that a lot of requests are coming from those that are marketing (or want to market) their businesses.

I don't see too much wrong with that because I know that there are "secrets" that people use on MySpace to help promote both their businesses and careers! Since I have a career and business of my own I shouldn't be too snobbish about others advertising their own businesses.

You could gain a very good network of contacts via your own MySpace page and I'm assuming that this is what a lot of people are doing. There's nothing wrong with promoting and / or advertising your business or career on your MySpace page. You never know whether or not you could get lucky with the contacts that you make there. And by lucky I mean getting contacts that can help you in your business ie more clients, more contacts and more customers!

But that's not to say that you can't use your own MySpace page as a personal networking site too. I think that was the reason that MySpace was started in the first place. As a matter of fact I am just "getting it" as far as the term MySpace is concerned. MySpace - meaning your own personal "space" on the internet - DUH!

So far I'm getting some very interesting friend requests - both from businesses and individuals.

I must say though that sometimes when I'm checking out another person's MySpace page, it takes some time for their sites to load.

I know people like to get carried away when they are adding stuff to their own MySpace pages but sometimes it will bog / slow down when other people are trying to load your MySpace page to see what you are all about.

"What Happened To My MySpace Page?"

If you go looking for a myspace page and its not there - or even worse your OWN myspace page can no longer be found, here's a note from myspace:

The link you are trying to visit has been disabled.

You have reached a link that is no longer in service. That means the link was very naughty, and, much like head lice, had to be eliminated before it spread.

You may be asking yourself, "Hey, what was it about that link that got it in trouble?" An excellent question! Usually, it's one of the following reasons:

- The link was spam! No one likes spammers, and we don't like their links.

- You almost got phished! There are people out there who want to steal your MySpace password. They want to log in as you and send spam, harass your friends, change your profile, and generally run amok. Phishing pages are usually designed to look like MySpace to trick you. Other sites may also ask for your MySpace login information to customize your profile, insert videos or slide shows, track visitors, or any number of other things. Don't make it easy for them. ONLY USE YOUR MYSPACE LOGIN INFO ON WWW.MYSPACE.COM!!

- Viruses are not fun! Neither is adware, spyware, or malware. We cut the links to places that are known sources of infection.

If you really did want to check out some spam, viruses, or phishing pages, we're really sorry to have interrupted. We're sure you can find it elsewhere. There's plenty on the Internet
